Now that I’m not driving. I can provide specific feedback about the content you sent me. I want to make sure you understand where I’m at, I couldn’t tell if you understood when we spoke earlier.
First, I’m 100% on board with creating content that doesn’t necessarily fit our brand’s style if that’s what you’ve done in the past for other accounts, and that aspect of the design is what made the campaign successful, but it needs to make sense. The design you sent me is so visually busy that the readability factor is poor at best. This is because font style is the same, font size is the same, the only difference is the alternating teal and white font color which just looks tacky and doesn’t improve readability.
When I think about what makes someone like me, who is incredibly busy, easily distracted, and has a short attention span, stop to read, or click on an add, it’s the key words and straightforward, simple design. The reader should know what’s being offered immediately and because it’s clean and direct, the reader can determine if they’re interested right away. There are reasons that ads aren’t formatted the same as a written email, the purpose is to attract the reader and guide them quickly to where you want them to go. This is accomplished through

I don’t think the model is a good idea for this type of promotion with the amount of content you’re trying to include. I think simple is better, something like a pop up on the website or teaser email or text that simply announces the upcoming black Friday promotion. If you think each promotion, we plan to run should be included in the email, then it should be apart from the eye-catching announcement with the use of content blocks under the main photo, see below what I mean by simple but eye catching.
If you want all the deals to be featured, it needs to be clearer. Here’s another example of what I mean.
Hopefully, this clarifies what I meant by professional. I don’t mean pretty and Chic, I mean thoughtfully and intentionally designed. I really hope this campaign is a success. To be honest, I’m a little worried, since the content you created is so far off from this concept which isn’t anything new or proprietary, it’s standard in marketing and advertising. We can arrange a call at some point after all this is over to talk about everything so we’re on the same page moving forward. Thank you!
