In order to connect these two accounts, we need ADMIN access on the Google ads which we do not have. I can go ahead and add sleepbetternj@gmail.com as ADMIN on the GA account I created and let them link it. What do you think?

Okay. But that is a new GA account I created for them. Just need to have ADMIN on the Google ads to link them. Nonetheless, we will wait and try to figure it out. Thanks.

Ok, are we not able to link with the access we have?

No. We need to have ADMIN level on the Google ads account in order to do so. We have STANDARD which does NOT allow any linking. Please ask client to provide it for you. (or I can email them if you prefer)

As I stated above, another option is that I can send client an invite to Google analytics account so they can try to link on their end.
