GBP (aka GMB) set-up

Notes
Please build out the GBP:

1. All SEO clients MUST have this completed in addition to tracking.
  • Maximize keywords/keyphrases for services, business bragging rights, and character limit on ‘About the Business’ section.
  • Add services and optimize descriptions using the full character limit following best SEO practices. Focus on the most popular/ad services first. Other services are secondary and can be added weekly/bi-monthly when tracking on spreadsheets.
  • Thoroughly check the business page info and update as needed (e.x. primary/secondary category, phone number, address, hours, logo, website URL). Make sure that both the business name and address exactly match other listings across the website. (i.e. using ‘St’ vs ‘Street’)
  • Ask 3 questions and post answers about trending topics for the most popular services. Then continue posting bi-monthly as scheduled for tracking GMB.
2. Maintain bi-monthly tracking on internal operations spreadsheet: 2 posts, 1-2 images, 1 video (if we have), events (as requested/informed), 2 Q&As, and replying to reviews as requested.

*SEO best practice: Maximize the use of first and secondary keywords and key phrases in addition to the location within character limit restrictions. Use common sense to ensure they don’t read as generic or robotic. If unsure about treatment, fully read about it on the business’s respective website.

OPTIMIZING GBP: *First step for new SEO clients & a MUST for all SEO clients
  • About the Business: This section has a maximum character limit of 750. It is important to follow best SEO practices while writing from a viewpoint of the potential client. Maximize SEO but be enticing with language featuring the Owner’s bragging rights. 
  • Services & Descriptions: Services have a maximum character limit of 300. It is important to follow the best SEO practices in these descriptions.
  • Info: Hector or the Owner will usually set up all information, but double check to make sure no important information is missing: phone number, hours, logo/profile photo, address, website, business name, or business category.
    *Special note about Business Category: In order for the business to rank optimally, it is important that the Primary business category is correct. For example, if a business is primarily a medical spa, the primary category should not be a skin care clinic. Add Secondary categories to help boost organic ranking.
