• Acne - Acne are breakouts on the skin that can be painful and cause scarring. Acne is common at any age as opposed to common misconception that only teenagers have acne breakouts. Acne can often be hormonal. Early diagnosis and treatment is key to preventing long-term scarring 
• Pigment changes- Pigment changes are changes in color on the skin to either darker or lighter than your normal skin tone. This can occur due to inflammation, infection, auto-immune disorders or medications. It is important to see a Board Certified Dermatologist for any pigment change of the skin for proper and early treatment to prevent further pigment changes or long-lasting unwanted pigment changes. 
• Eczema- Eczema is common in both children and adults and can present in numerous ways and locations on the skin. Proper diagnosis and management by a Board Certified Dermatologist can aid in clearing up skin lesions and controling these symptoms quickly and effectively, preventing long-term problems.
• Rash- A new rash can be related to many factors including serious or life threatening drug-related rashes, auto-immune disorders, or severe allergic reactions. Early and proper diagnosis by a Board Certified Dermatologsit is important in order to prevent the worsening of this uncomfortable symptom. 
• Psoriasis- Psoriasis is a common auto-immune disorder of the skin and can affect children and adults. It can present differently in different people and is sometimes accompanied by joint disease. Early and proper diagnosis by a Board Certified Dermatologist can lead to clear skin and prevent destruction of the joints. 
• Rosacea- Rosacea is a common inflammatory condition of the skin and can present in many ways. Rosacea can have long-term consequences of scarring, pgimentation changes, and in extreme cases deformity of the nose or eyes. Early and proper diagnosis and treatment by a Board Certified Dermatologist is important to prevent long-term symptoms. 
• Excessive Sweating- Excessive or severe sweating occurs in 10% of the population in the underarms ,hands or feet. It can negatively impact a person's daily activities. Proper diagnosis and treatment by a Board Certified Dermatologist can improve quality of life and prevent a person from suffering insecurities and trauma. 
• Scars- Scars and keloids (painful, raised scars) can occur anywhere on the skin and have debilitating, long-term consequences. Treatments vary from prescription creams to injections and surgery. A Board Certified Dermatologist can evalaute the type of scar and discuss the best treatments available to you. 
• Warts- Warts and molluscum (warts caused by some viruses) are common infectious conditions in children and adults. A Board Certified Dermatologist can properly assess and treat these lesions to prevent scarring and further spread. 
• Skin Cancer - Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the world. There are several types of skin cancer with melanoma being the most life threatening. Proper diagnosis and early treatment by a Board Certified Dermatologist during a skin examination can prevent and treat skin cancer early and save lives.
• Brown spots- Brown spots on the skin can appear in many ways and are related to different issues like too much pigment , benign or non-cancerous growths, and even cancerous growths. A proper diagnosis by a Board Certified Dermatologist can aid in early treatment and correction.  
• Anti-Aging-  Dr. Mays is a believer in a medical and aesthetic assessment of the skin and face to address changes from aging and their prevention. Aging of the skin can be due to numerous causes and can have different exam findings. Proper assessment by a Board Certified Dermatologist allows for correct treatment. This can save you time and money avoiding unnecessary, ineffective, or potentially harmful treatments or procedures.
