I am seeing that this client's site - is down due to an expired SSL certificate. Is this something on us or does the client need to take care of it on their end?

Okay, I figured that but I wanted to check with you first. 
I have sent Chris an email about this to see if he wants me to contact them. It seems as if their SSL Certificate has expired. 
Let me see what he says.

It seems the client does not care enough to take care of it.

I know this website is down and so does the client. They didnt own it, it belonged to another marketing company. So the microsite we made for them is all they have.
