Notes: Hi Jonnamae We received this email about this client's new Daxxify blog. Can you look into this and see why it's happening?

Question - When I created the daxxify blog post, I duplicated the previous blog which was Restylane kysse.

Now when people search for daxxify Hawaii – we do show up first organically, but the image is the picture of Restylane kysse. Is there a way to change this so that they can see a picture of daxxify instead?

Jonnamae I searched "Daxxify Hawaii" and the wrong photo does show up. See below:

- I checked the post but I couldn't find the Restylane image. I tried searching "DAXXIFY hawaii" on Bing and it looks fine. Only Google has this image.

Can anyone else give some insight into why this is happening? The photo isn't a part of the post, but the doctor duplicated the restylane post and edited it to make this daxxify page and the featured image from the restylane page is still showing on the Google search even though it's not set as the featured image.

When the client duplicated this post, the original one was Restylane and so were the imaages. Google bots had already crawled that blog and considered it a duplicate. Even though the image was changed, the bots already crawled it, marked it, indexed it.
I think that one of the best ways to fix this issue is by resubmitting the blog post and then the sitemap.

Funny thing is that when you save the image, it is tagged as RESTYLANE-CONTOUR-scaled.

That is not a dumb question. Your inquiry is legitimate.
The Blog gets automatically resubmitted when you resubmit the sitemap.

I know you resubmitted the site map, but the issue is still there. Do I need to have Jonnamae copy the blog content and create a new one that isn't a duplicate of the Restylane page?

Other than removing the blog post, then resubmitting the sitemap, waiting, and then posting it again, there's no other alternative. Google bots have marked this image as the one which belongs to that article.
I resubmitted it once again to see if they go for the crumbs.
The client should be glad that they are ranking on the first page; even if the image is not the one they want.
Worse case scenario is they get removed and do not rank at all.
