Assigned to
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie A.
Notes
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie  can you please change the Medical Therapies page (summary page) to a Medical Hair Loss Treatment page instead? Presciptions need to be a part of the Medical Therapies page.

Only the Medical Therapies section content should remain as well as the content here "FDA-approved Prescription Hair Loss Medications"

These Prescriptions need to be included:

Minoxidil (Rogaine)is for men and women.
Finasteride (Propecia) and Dutasteride (Avodart) are for men
Spironolactone is for women.

Thank you!

Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie   , Here is the information about the prescriptions:

Minoxidil (Rogaine) is an FDA-approved over-the-counter medication (i.e., no prescription needed) that helps grow and keep the hair you have. I suggest you use the 5 percent solution twice daily on your scalp. I prefer the liquid over the foam as it reaches your scalp better and it is less irritating. You might see an increase in hair loss as the medication starts stimulating your hair follicles. Such hair will come back, so don't be alarmed. You must use the medication daily for at least six months before you see results.
Finasteride (Propecia) is an FDA-approved prescription medication intended to grow your hair. Finasteride may cause sexual side effects in less than 1.8 percent of men taking it. Just to be clear, the studies also showed that 1.3 percent of the men taking a placebo (a sugar pill) had the same sexual side effects. That means that the real number is probably 0.5 percent of men on finasteride may develop sexual side effects. These side effects include loss of sexual interest and decreased ejaculation. Such side effects are reversible once you stop taking the medication. Should you develop any side effects, I can help you manage such by either adjusting the dosing regimen of the oral medication or switching you to a compounded (made by the pharmacist) topical liquid that you would apply to your scalp twice daily. The topical liquid has the advantage of low to no systemic absorption, thereby avoiding sexual side effects. The compounded product includes Rogaine (minoxidil), but at a prescription strength of 7.5 percent.

Dutasteride (Avodart) is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to treat benign prostatic hypertrophy. Studies have found that dutasteride is more effective at treating male pattern baldness. This medication appears to have the same rate and types of side effects as finasteride. That means you likely won't be trading efficacy for more side effects. The use of dutasteride for hair loss is considered "off-label," meaning that the medication has not been approved by the FDA for use in hair loss, but it appears to be safe and effective for such use.

Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie Here is another medication that needs to be on this page:

Spironolactone is a high-blood pressure medication that helps women stop hair loss and grow new hair. This medication is approved by the FDA for blood pressure control. The drug causes the adrenal glands and ovaries to reduce the production of androgens (testosterone) and also blocks the action of the androgens that are produced. One way to do this is by preventing dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the form of testosterone that causes hair loss, from binding to its androgenetic receptor and affecting the hair follicle.

Thank so much Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne  ! I wanted to be 100% sure it was directly from him before I quote him in the service page.
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar thank u!!!
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie  thank you! I edited the slug. Per our convos, treatment page meta should include the city and state, keyword, secondary keyword, and more descriptive info than "Ilea Hair Restoration." Can you please modify it?
Kamie Allen, Content Manager
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne I changed it to this: Balding, thinning hair, and receding hairlines can be treated. Learn about non-surgical hair loss treatments that stop hair loss and promote regrowth.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie  what about the city and state?
Kamie Allen, Content Manager
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne  city and state are in the Meta Title, slug, and H1 so I thought we could optimize the meta description with more info on hair loss and hit more keywords.
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie  for treatment pages, we want the city and state to be on meta descriptions always. The type of meta description you did would be good for blog articles. Thank you!
Kamie Allen, Content Manager
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne  did we change this? The SEO guidelines we put together says the city and state only if character count allows.
Brittany Redding, Digital Marketing Manager at Medstar
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie Alyssa Workman, Medstar Alyssa I would like some clarification on this as well. I thought we were putting the city and state in the meta title always (if character count allows) and focusing on the service in the meta description and adding the name of the client if character count allows.
Alyssa Workman, Medstar
There is a different protocol for service pages vs blogs on how metadata should be created. Can we clarify this on the next writers or SEO call?

I think it is better to have live conversation on this and then update documents/protocols as needed once verbal confirmation is had.

I will acquire a few examples before then for a visual reference when we have the next live call. I know Kamie is out this week so maybe this has to wait until next week (NOV 16th).
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
Alyssa Workman, Medstar Alyssa  thank you! Yes, let's talk about this on next week's call.
Kamie Allen, Content Manager
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne  I added in Houston, Texas to the meta description so we can look at this week and discuss what our best course of action is going forward!
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie  per our conversation with Mike, for treatment pages this should change to adding the city & st. to everything right?
Kamie Allen, Content Manager
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar Ivonne  he said it did look a little spammy but it is acceptable. I added it into the meta and took it our of the slug on this one as he instructed in the meeting. So, we have Houston, Texas in the Meta Title, Meta Description, and the H1 now.
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
Kamie Allen, Content Manager Kamie perfect. Dr. Cesar liked it. He only wanted to make sure we mention that the consultation is free near the end.
Ivonne Ackerman, Medstar
