People are more likely to stop and read the ad if there's a heated discussion.  Engagement and time spent reading the ad signals to Meta's algorithm: This ad works and people like this ad. Therefore they will serve the ad to a wider audience. The wider the audience served- the more clicks, the more conversions. If only trolls knew- they are literally helping boost your ad's performance by engaging with your ad.  "
