I have now received noticed that SEO blog posts were added to client's {Well Nessesity Life} site so I could begin the indexing them on Google process. I logged into the clients GSC and provided URL https://wellnessesity.life/blog/non-surgical-facelift-alternative-emface/ to be inspected, crawled and requested that it be indexed.

Hector  they never got the EMface device so we had to take away all EMface articles. Thanks!!

Kamie - Thank you for letting us know. When we removed these articles..did we set up 301s?

Isaac  I apologize, Isaac, I am actually not sure if we did or didn't. Could you please let me know what that is? I'm not as familiar with web dev as some others. Thank you!!

Hi Kamie - So basically whenever we delete a page/post/image or move it to draft. We need to set up 301 redirect to the new page/post that's equivalent to the deleted item. If we don't have any new page/post equivalent to it. We can set up the redirect to the root domain. After doing this. We need to re-submit the sitemap.

Kamie I can't find this URL or any other blogs relating to EMFace tracked on the SEO Client Master Sheet. Was there more than one EMFace Blog written, or was this the only one? 

If blogs get deleted in the future, please loop me or Isaac in so we can help instruct the team for the 301 redirects & re-submission on the sitemap, unless you will be accountable to instruct the developer to do this yourself. 

Isaac Alyssa  So we essentially swapped out blogs, that's why they aren't listed on the master sheet because we replaced them with new content relevant to the services they already had since they decided not to get EMFace. I apologize for this error. I was not aware we had to do this. If you need to find the urls, I can go back into basecamp and find them so you can do the redirects. Will that help? Just let me know how to proceed from here and then in the future I will know not to make this error. Thanks for educating me more on the web dev side of things guys!!

Kamie why aren't you keeping track of all blog URLs? We should to have a record, even if something gets swapped/archived. I suggest creating a separate column to the right of the one that gets swapped to keep the record. Yes, if you can check through your previously assigned tasks that will be helpful. Are you aware of any other clients this could have happened with? 

Isaac are you able to check the site revision history for all EMFace related URLs? 

Alyssa We were deleting them, so if we are eliminating a post I didn't think we still needed to keep track of it but that's mostly because I am not knowledgable at all with the web development side of things or what needs to be done in those cases. It was an error on my part basically because I didn't know otherwise. I will make a note of this and avoid it in the future. 

I can go through and find the urls, will have them to you soon. It was only 3 posts, I believe.

I understand Kamie . I am glad we uncovered it, since this was a training error on Medstar's end too. We always want to keep records of work done/archived. Together we can help to avoid this going forward.
 
If you think of any other clients this may have happened with, I'll help you audit to make corrections. Thank you for helping find the URLs! 

Alyssa not to my knowledge. I will make sure Kylie knows this as well so she can also avoid this! The only other instance where we had to back track and swap was with Dr. Lowney but that was maybe 2+ years ago when he stopped serving CoolSculpting and we had to replace a few articles.
